(Saint-Joachim-De-Shefford) A man lost his life after a motorcycle swerve on Route 241 in Saint-Joachim-de-Shefford, in the Eastern Townships, Tuesday around 4 p.m.
The driver would have lost control of his vehicle as he attempted to overtake and finally hit an electric pole, explains the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Catherine Bernard.
The 29-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Sergeant Bernard points out that speed may have played a role in this accident.
A police officer specializing in collisions went to the scene to clarify the causes and circumstances of this event.
Route 241 is closed in both directions at height 6e Rang Est, according to the website of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility.
