On the night of Thursday to Friday, around midnight, a 25-year-old woman was shot while she was on Maurice-Duplessis Boulevard, near 27e Avenue, in Rivière-des-Prairies. She was heading to a restaurant in a vehicle with a man, who was not injured.
Several suspects, on foot, fired. According to our information, more than thirty casings were found on the scene.
The patrol officers then spotted a suspicious vehicle and a vast police operation immediately began. After a traffic accident, the four suspects who were inside the car fled on foot.
Two of them have already been arrested. They are two men aged 18 and 23, members of a clique linked to Zone 43, a street gang in northeastern Montreal, our sources tell us.
Heavily armed suspect
On the way from The Press, the heavily damaged suspect car could still be seen after the crash. In the vehicle, the police found a bulletproof vest, a firearm and at least one charger, according to our information.
The event could be linked to the shootings on Wednesday, according to our sources.
The police presence on Friday morning extended over a large quadrilateral between Metropolitan Boulevard, Marien Avenue, Henri-Bourassa Boulevard and Broadway Avenue, in eastern Montreal.
