The exhausted residents have almost all become homeless. “THE children are cold, they are alone. We have nowhere to go wash”, testifies a man. Like them, more than 300,000 people are waiting to be rehoused. The other challenge is to reconnect with a daily life that is now broken.

In Taroudant (Morocco)the army set up makeshift schools in tents. In this village, in the south-east of Morocco, no establishment withstood the earthquake. “Coming to school is better than staying at home all day.” assures a schoolboy.
