A little more than 48 hours after the earthquake, the death toll rose to more than 2,700. The 19/20 info of Monday, September 11 welcomes Patrick Hermann, owner of the Riad “Les Trois Palmiers”, a duplex in Marrakech (Morocco).
“OUR Riad is located in the heart of the medina of Marrakech. When the earthquake hit, I was at home 15 minutes outside of town. The Riad was full and complete, the staff was there. Our night receptionist immediately took care of the tourists (…) the damage we see today is not to be neglected, but does not represent the entire medina of Marrakech“, explains Patrick Hermann, owner of the Riad “The three palm trees. Important solidarity
“The main concern, the distress, is in the mountains. My wife left this morning and started a fundraiser to help people in the mountains. In town of course there is had deaths, the fact remains that the heart of the subject is found in the Atlas Mountains. Villages have been built the same way for centuries“, specifies Patrick Hermann. “I have been seeing Moroccan solidarity for 20 years. Once again, the Moroccan people, but also the French, are showing incredible solidarity. Everyone is hard at work.”concludes Patrick Hermann.
