France, which has not yet been authorized to intervene in Morocco, is adapting to the situation by announcing aid of five million euros reserved for NGOs working on Moroccan soil. The France 2 teams met the head of the “French humanitarian firefighters”.

The French Humanitarian Fire Brigade team arrived in Marrakech without requesting authorization. “We are leaving as an association, we have taken the plane tickets. Our goal is to have the authorization of the Moroccan authorities. Without authorization, we will not intervene”specifies Tanguy CharrelHead of Mission. “We see well that there are cracks everywhere, that’s why we have to secure the area, go up with a minimum of personnel. VSthey are all the places that need to be kept away from people”he continues.

“There is still time”

Asked about the missions to be carried out, particularly in the villages, Tanguy Charrel explains that he has names of villages which are destroyed. “Onot is currently discussing with the associations and the town hall of Marrakech to find out where we are going exactly, but it would go further south with villages completely destroyed (…) it is late when you exceed five to seven days. We always hope to get the victims out, knowing that our role is to take care of them. There is still time”concludes the head of mission.
