Eagles 17 – Seahawks 20 | A third loss in a row for Philadelphia

(Seattle) Drew Lock completed a 29-yard pass to Jaxon Smith-Njigba with 28 seconds left to cap a 92-yard offensive drive with a touchdown and the Seattle Seahawks surprised the Philadelphia Eagles 20-17 on Monday.

The Seahawks (7-7) erased a 10-point deficit thanks to their reserve quarterback, ending a four-game losing streak. The 92-yard possession for the major was the club’s longest this season.

On a third down and 10 yards, Smith-Njigba beat James Bradberry at the faceoff line, then caught a perfect throw from Lock. The latter, who started a second straight game in place of the injured Geno Smith, joined DK Metcalf three times during the decisive sequence, including on plays of 18 and 34 yards.

The Eagles (10-4) had one last chance, but Julian Love made his second interception of the fourth quarter at the expense of Jalen Hurts. The Pennsylvania team thus suffered a third setback in a row.

Midway through the fourth quarter, Love also intercepted a Hurts pass in the end zone to prevent the Eagles from extending their lead to four points.

Lock completed 22 of 33 passes for 208 yards. Hurts, whose presence was uncertain due to a virus, rushed 13 times for 82 yards and two touchdowns. He completed 17 of 31 passes for 143 yards.

Lock was also the primary blocker on Kenneth Walker III’s 23-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter to make it 10-10. Walker finished the game with 86 yards.

The Seahawks joined a group that now includes four .500 teams in the fight for the last playoff berth in the National Association.
