There was an air of family evening, Tuesday, April 19, for the opening of the 46th edition of the Printemps de Bourges, which saw Jacques and Thomas Dutronc launch this edition of the revival for good, with hits and with a lot of emotions. Two men visibly moved to begin a major tour together on stage, bringing with them festival-goers conquered in advance.
With a large majority of titles from his father, Thomas Dutronc puts himself at the service of a unique and impressive repertoire and has worked a lot on the arrangements, more rock… He fully assumes this position: “It is an immense happiness to be with my father, he explains. I have so much love for him and tenderness! There are so many things, too, that you don’t say to yourself… Sometimes he isn’t always simple either, but I love him deeply.” “It’s a pity he didn’t have not a camera, because after all this long talk, I can only kiss her”replies the father with a smile.
Obviously, the complicity is flagrant: father and son have fun and complement each other, the voice of Jacques, 78, is impressively accurate. The spectators are immersed in the middle of a family reunion. “To see him sing with his son is exceptional, exclaims, delighted, a spectator. And it even makes me think of myself: if I could do things like that with mine too…”
Tuesday evening, the Printemps de Bourges was only the fourth stage of a major tour of festivals and then large halls at the start of the school year. The Dutroncs will be visiting the Nuits de Fourvière, Musilac, the Arènes de Nîmes or the Francofolies de La Rochelle this summer. Their big tour will pass in particular, then, by the Accor Arena in Paris on November 21st.
