The Nanterre public prosecutor’s office will launch a new special call for witnesses system for closed cases investigated by the cold cases unit.
“In search of clues” is a system of calling for witnesses to try to resolve cases from the cold cases pole, the national judicial pole dedicated to unsolved criminal cases, created two years ago. Camille Chaize, spokesperson for the Ministry of the Interior, explains that “the idea under the authority of the prosecution, in charge of resolving cold cases and with all the investigators of the judicial police who work, is to dust off the call for witnesses”.

“Gone are the days when we sent a press release to all the media who then relayed it. We want to attract the public’s attention, search in everyone’s memory so that they can bring us elements to relaunch the investigation. We need to dust off all this with short videos”. These are short videos retracing the investigations in question. Posted on the website of the Ministry of the Interior, they will be shared on social networks.
