Dune or the cinema response

This hoarse voice does not lie, Denis Villeneuve caught the virus which prevented Timothée Chalamet from participating in the big premiere of Dune: Part Two in Montreal Thursday evening. It seems that several stars of the film have just fallen ill during this intense promotional tour which took part of the team from Mexico to New York, via London, Paris, Seoul and Abu Dhabi, and brought out the crowds Also.

“It’s the accumulation [de décalage horaire], but it looks like my body is above Pakistan right now,” says Denis Villeneuve as he enters a room at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Montreal, where he once again submits to a long series of interviews. But this time, he will at least be able to go back to sleep at home.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for the tribute he paid to my late colleague Marc-André Lussier after his death – it is very rare for filmmakers of his caliber to honor the memory of a critic. “It’s the first film in my life that I’ve released where he’s not there,” he says, touched. He wasn’t my great friend like you, his colleagues, but it’s moving to know that he was always there, even in my first short films. I had a thought for him. »
