“Dune II” by Denis Villeneuve still dominates the French box office with more than two million spectators

The Canadian’s feature film has already won over 2.3 million spectators for its second week in French cinemas.

Dune: part two continues to hold first place at the French box office, with more than 2.3 million spectators for its second week in theaters, according to CBO Box Office figures published Wednesday March 13. Denis Villeneuve’s film, which brings together a five-star cast (Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Léa Seydoux, Austin Butler), once again explodes the numbers. A great science fiction spectacle set against a backdrop of political and religious intrigue, taking place on the desert planet of Arrakis imagined by American author Frank Herbert, the nearly three-hour film largely dominates the entry rankings.

The feature film by James Hawes with Anthony Hopkins A life hangs on to second place, with just over 1 million entries, three weeks after its release. In third place, Bolero by Anne Fontaine attracted more than 177,000 spectators, who came to see the story of the creation of the eponymous work by Maurice Ravel in 1928, a piece which earned him international fame. Follows the biopic Bob Marley: one lovewhich has accumulated 1 million 700,000 admissions since its release, then “Retirement Home 2” and its 1,300,000 spectators.

2. “Une vie”: 248,396 entries on 648 copies (1,032,947 entries in three weeks)

3. “Boléro”: 1,77,724 entries out of 511 copies (new)

4. “Bob Marley: One Love”: 1,72,507 admissions on 999 copies (1,709,717 admissions in four weeks)

5. “Retirement home 2”: 1,57,376 entries from 786 copies (1,311,381 entries in four weeks)
