Duhaime again distances himself from conspiracy theories

Quebec | Éric Duhaime once again denied adhering to various conspiracy theories. He made it clear that he does not believe that the 2020 US presidential election was stolen from Donald Trump, nor from the link between the pandemic and 5G.

“Indeed, I recognize the democratic result of the American elections, said the conservative leader in response to a question from a journalist on Monday. From the last and from the previous ones. »

“I am a democrat, I always recognized the result of the elections. I have lost more elections in my life than I have won, so if I had to challenge it would have already been done,” he added.

In his column last Saturday, the former leader of the Action Démocratique du Québec (ADQ), Mario Dumont, had challenged Éric Duhaime to affirm that Donald Trump had indeed lost the American presidential elections in 2020, and to argue that vaccines are not the result of a global elite plot.

Faced with these questions the same day, the conservative leader had not specified whether he indeed recognized the defeat of the former American president. It was only a few hours later that his press officer did so through a written statement.

However, he had distanced himself from the theory that the pandemic and the vaccines against COVID-19 were the result of a government conspiracy. However, he called for “nuance” and for freedom of expression and freedom of choice.

Other theories

Éric Duhaime has also distanced himself from other controversial ideas, such as those of the links between 5G and the pandemic.

“Absolutely not, he said to express that there is, according to him, no link between the two. Neither chips nor Bill Gates,” he even added.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister François Legault pledged to invest $3 billion to complete cellular coverage in a future mandate, by accelerating the conversion of the network to 5G technology.
