Duel against the Rouge et Noir on Monday | The Alouettes will try to secure their 2nd place in the East

(Toronto) The Montreal Alouettes can ensure they finish second in the Eastern section of the Canadian Football League on Monday.

The Alouettes (8-7) already occupy this position, two points ahead of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (7-8). Jason Maas’ men will host the Ottawa Rouge et Noir (4-11) in their traditional home game on Thanksgiving Monday. The day before, the Tiger-Cats will have visited the Saskatchewan Roughriders (6-9).

Victories for the Alouettes and the Roughriders will ensure that the Montreal team can no longer be caught in second place. In doing so, the Alouettes will host the Tiger-Cats in the Eastern semi-final on November 4.

Furthermore, a victory for the Roughriders will eliminate the crossover scenario for the fourth place team in the East and will exclude the Rouge et Noir and the Edmonton Elks from the playoffs.

The Elks (4-11) will travel to Toronto this week to face the Argonauts (12-2) on Friday night.

The Rouge et Noir and the Elks will also be excluded from the playoffs if they lose their respective games this weekend.
