Due to bad weather, 4,400 private telephone and internet homes in the Dordogne

A fiber optic cable was cut in Saint-Sulpice-d’Excideuil around 2 am in the night from Saturday to Sunday, indicates Orange this Sunday. This transport cable, which supplies power to various municipalities in the Dordogne, was damaged due to bad weather. Copper cables were also cut due to the gales. Since, 4,400 households across the department find themselves deprived of internet and landlines. All operators are affected.

Orange has identified problems in Corgnac-sur-l’Isle and Saint-Sulpice-d’Excideuil. It seems that residents of Miallet, Chalais, La Coquille or Angoisse are also concerned.

A technical team is on site this Sunday afternoon. The majority of households concerned should regain access to the telephone and the internet this evening, and the situation will be fully restored in the morning of tomorrow Monday.
