Dryden Hunt moves to Maple Leafs, Avalanche get Denis Malgin

(Toronto) The Toronto Maple Leafs acquired forward Dryden Hunt from the Colorado Avalanche on Monday in exchange for fellow forward Denis Malgin.


The 27-year-old Hunt had 14 goals and 42 points in 193 NHL games with the Florida Panthers, Arizona Coyotes, New York Rangers and Avalanche.

This season, the BC native has scored two goals in 28 games with the Avalanche and Rangers.

Acquired from the Florida Panthers for forward Mason Marchment in February 2020, Malgin had zero points in eight games during a first stint with the Maple Leafs, before going to Switzerland, where he spent the last two seasons.

The 25-year-old Malgin has two goals and two assists in 24 games with the Maple Leafs this season.

In 215 NHL games, Malgin has 30 goals and 64 points.
