Prison staff at the Donnacona prison, near Quebec, seized a “package” containing drugs and cell phones on the grounds of their establishment on Sunday.
The package discovered contained 164.6 grams of hashish, 90 grams of cannabis, 80 grams of cannabis wax, 46.7 grams of cannabis concentrate, 200 steroid tablets, 205 grams of tobacco and two cell phones.
The resale value of these products inside the prison walls is close to $100,000.
“The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) has a number of tools to prevent the introduction of drugs into its institutions. These tools include ion scanners and drug detection dogs for searching buildings, personal property, inmates and visitors,” the Correctional Service of Canada said in a statement.
No arrests have been made in this case.
