(Montreal) Searches were underway Thursday morning for drug trafficking in the boroughs of LaSalle and Saint-Laurent, in Montreal.
The intervention is led by the National Organized Crime Squad (ENRCO), which includes the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) and the Montreal Police Service. It follows an investigation that began last October.
Several SQ units are on site, including a dog handler and the tactical intervention group.
ENRCO aims to target organized crime leaders, including the Hells Angels. She also investigates unsolved murders linked to organized crime.
The ENRCO Montreal team is made up of police officers from Montreal, Laval and Longueuil, the Sûreté du Québec, as well as members of the Ontario Provincial Police and the Canada Border Services Agency.
