After nine arrests last March, the Longueuil police continue to put pressure on a network of drug traffickers. Several searches are taking place Thursday morning, the police force announced.
Longueuil police investigation teams visited three addresses Thursday morning, two in Montreal and one in Sainte-Catherine, as part of this narcotics operation. They are assisted by the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) and the Régie intermunicipale de police Roussillon.
The objective was to follow up on Operation STIGMATE on March 30, during which two firearms, ammunition and hard drugs, four kilos of cocaine, were discovered by the authorities. Nine people were then arrested.
“The objective is to send a clear message to this network that we were going to keep the pressure on their criminal activities,” explains agent Ghyslain Vallières, from the Longueuil agglomeration police department (SPAL).
“We already know that narcotics were seized today,” adds agent Vallières.
Further details regarding the searches will be provided during the day, adds the SPAL.
