The deployment of some 150 police officers led by the Montérégie Regional Mixed Squad (ERM) targets residences and vehicles, in addition to arresting people who may be involved in drug trafficking related to outlaw bikers. This network would operate mainly in the Regional County Municipality (MRC) of Maskoutains.
The ERM specifies that the operation stems from an investigation initiated last June.
Among the police forces involved are the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the Longueuil agglomeration police service and the Mercier city police service (SPVDM).
On Wednesday, the Regional Mixed Squad (ERM) Rive-Nord delegated 120 police officers from the SQ and municipal police services from Laval, Deux-Montagnes, Saint-Jérôme, Mirabel, Blainville and Saint-Eustache to carry out the searches. In this case, no arrests were made.
