A 22-year-old man drowned in Lac des Deux Montagnes on Sunday afternoon, according to the Sûreté du Québec.

“He allegedly jumped into the water from a boat. Once in the water he struggled and then he fell unconscious quickly, ”reported a spokesperson for the SQ, noting that the young man could not swim.
A person accompanying him tried to help him, to no avail. The emergency services were called around 2:30 p.m. The firefighters carried out resuscitation maneuvers, without success. His death was pronounced at the hospital.
“There is an ongoing coroner’s inquest into the causes and circumstances surrounding the death,” said the police officer.
