Due to the drought, the land is suffering, and so are the wild animals. Owlshedgehogs or squirrels can find themselves dehydrated and weakened, so care centers take care of them. Report in Châtellerault.

In Chatellerault (Vienna)an owl is completely weakened. The animal is emaciated and injured. So, volunteers take care of her at the wildlife care center. During each period of heat wave, wild animals are extremely weakened. Volunteers must act urgently. The owl, weakened by the heat, broke its wing while looking for food.

Due to the drought, small mammals have difficulty finding food. A squirrel, at the center for 15 days, is 30 grams lighter than it should weigh.Normally, at this age, they are very round. They have a very cute little belly, and there we have very skinny animals“, explains Lydia Bourdeaufounder of the poitevine wildlife care centre. Since the beginning of the summer, she has received four times more calls than usual.
