Since the beginning of June, Hezbollah has intensified its drone shipments to northern Israel, to Kiryat Shmona, less than 3 kilometers from Lebanon. A resident of this town believes that “it is one of the deadliest weapons“, but also the most pernicious threat. Because these drones pass through the meshes of the anti-aircraft defense of theEHebrew tat.

Yeoshua Kaliski, a researcher at the National Security Institute in Tel Aviv, analyzes these drones. “They leave little trace. They fly at very low altitude. They are difficult to detect. These weapons kill people, they scare people. And that’s exactly what terrorist groups like Hezbollah want,” he notes.

According to the security expert, “the price of an interceptor missile can reach $100,000, while these drones cost $2,000. This is not the right way to combat these so-called ‘low tech’ technologies. The best technique is to use rapid-fire cannons. The problem is that we no longer produce them, but we are going to resume manufacturing.”

Hezbollah also uses observation drones and to increase the pressure even more, videos of military installations in Israel were broadcast online on June 18.
