Since the start of the year, 46 driving license examiners have been attacked, most often verbally. How to stem this scourge? Avenues are being put forward by the unions.
Maxime Bourgeois, a driving license examiner, is tired of the repeated attacks. The last one was last spring. He tells : “An off-road motorcycle test candidate, learning that he did not pass his test, put on his motorcycle gloves and started telling me that it was going to become dangerous for me.” The examiner assures “be careful when leaving work in the evening so as not to be followed.”
Assaults on the rise
Verbal attacks, threats of reprisals and sometimes physical attacks, such as that which occurred on an inspector. “THE colleague got out of the vehicle to take shelter. At that moment, the candidate took the opportunity to grab him by the arm and dragged him about twenty meters.”, explains Maxime Bourgeois.
In 2022, 38 attacks on examiners were recorded. This year, the figure has already reached 46 attacks. In 95% In some cases, the examiner is verbally attacked by the candidate. Among the avenues put forward by the unions to stem this phenomenon: mask the identity of the reviewer to avoid retaliation. There Road safety launches a prevention campaign against these attacks with a slogan: “HASnone aggression is not permitted“.
