There were many taxis between Porte de la Villette and Porte de Pantin this Monday, March 4. Drivers mobilized and almost completely blocked traffic on part of the ring road. The blockade began around eight in the morning. At the origin of their anger, failed negotiations between VTCs and Health Insurance. The Cnam has decided to increase this year by around 3.5% the prices of trips to take a patient to the hospital or the doctor. An amount far from compensating inflation, according to them.
Continued mobilization?
“We are being taxed, (…) we have no idea what will be done now”, a 73-year-old driver, soon to retire. She says she is there for her colleagues since she herself is not approved to transport patients. According to the testimonies collected, if they are not heard, the mobilized drivers promise other mobilizations of this type in the coming days or weeks.
