Dream again, Fanny Bloom | The duty

The latest episode of the exciting documentary podcast series Dream Again, devoted to the small and the big history of the cult album of Daniel Bélanger and its influence, was put online at the beginning of the week. Each of its episodes ended with a cover of one of the flagship titles of Dream better by host, Fanny Bloom. The five songs unveiled in the series constitute the bulk of this mini-album, stripped-down rereadings, often on piano alone, giving way to Bloom’s high-pitched and delicate voice. In addition, we find a sober and dark version, but much more “electronic” than the other titles ofUntouchable and immortal and instrumental readings ofA woman, a train, a man and a station and of You fall, bearing the recognizable signature of Thomas Hébert (Valaire, Qualité Motel), with its evanescent trumpet and its soft tweaks. An unpretentious record, a nice side-step to a superb documentary project, which prolongs the pleasure of it.
