A family tragedy caused the death of two young children Monday evening in Laval. The suspect, believed to be the father of the victims, is expected to appear at the Laval courthouse on Tuesday.

According to our information, Anzel Arora, 13, and Aaron Arora, 10, were murdered Monday evening in their home on rue Lauzon, in Sainte-Dorothée. Monday evening, the police discovered the unresponsive children as well as a man who was lying at the scene.
The victims were said to have been poisoned and drowned, and at least one of them had their hands tied, according to police sources familiar with the matter. The children were immediately taken to hospital, where they were confirmed dead.
The suspect, Kamaljit Arora, 45, is believed to be the father of the victims. He will appear at the Laval courthouse on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Laval Police Department.

Relatives of the victims came to collect personal effects on Tuesday morning.
After killing his children, the father allegedly attempted suicide by poisoning. The police found him in his home having difficulty breathing. On Tuesday, authorities confirmed that Kamaljit Arora’s life was not in danger.
Everything points to a double murder followed by a suicide attempt. According to our information, a third person was present during the incident and fled before the police arrived.
An investigation is underway, and witnesses were interviewed by authorities on Tuesday.
