Drake announces hiatus to “focus on his health”

(Toronto) Canadian rapper Drake announced Friday that he would be taking a “year or more” break from his music career to “focus on his health,” citing “stomach issues.”

“I probably won’t do music for a while, I’ll be honest,” the artist explained on his radio program Table For Oneadding: “I need to focus on my health and get back on my feet.”

Wanting to be reassuring, the 36-year-old rapper clarified that it was “nothing serious” but that he had had “all kinds of problems with his stomach” for several years.

He also said he had other things to do, without giving further details.

“I’m going to close the studio door for a little while,” said the artist, adding that it would last “maybe a year, maybe a little longer.”

Several upcoming concert dates in the United States have been postponed on the singer’s website as well as on the Ticketmaster platform.

Those planned for Friday and Saturday in Toronto, however, seem to be maintained while fans have already been seen queuing in front of the venue.

This announcement falls on the same day as the release of his new album For All The Dogs.

His 5-year-old son Adonis did the album cover and appeared in a music video for the opus titled 8AM in Charlotte.
