Café Joyeux allows people with disabilities to work. “My mission at Café Joyeux is to serve, make coffee, prepare orders and cook. It’s going very very well“, indicates Anne-France, a team member at the Café Joyeux des Champs-élysées, in Paris. The young woman with Down syndrome explains that thanks “to training“, she learned many things, especially how to cook.

A professional life

Asked about the results of Café Joyeux after seven years of existence, Julie Moreau, operations manager of Café Joyeux, replies: “Les Cafés Joyeux will break even. That’s thanks to our teams, thanks to the training (…), thanks to the supervisors and all the people who work at headquarters.“The manager reminds us that the mission of Café Joyeux,”it is the inclusion of people with disabilities through work, professional training and meeting“. The objective of Cafés Joyeux is that the teams can then work in other companies.
