This Tuesday, July 5, 2022 is a big day for fans of More beautiful life. France 3 broadcasts a new premium event called “Retrouvailles”. The opportunity to find Dounia Coesens in particular, who had left the series eight years ago. A comeback on which the interpreter of Johanna confided in We both.
“I had returned there on the occasion of short intrigues. But it upset me to come back to the place knowing that everything was going to disappear, when I grew up there. It was moving. That made me nostalgic. I kept accessories from Johanna, my character: two, three shirts and her earrings from the last premium“, first confided the 33-year-old actress. Dounia Coesens was happy to return to the Mistral to once again put herself in the shoes of her character but also to find her colleagues with whom she knew how to maintain a good bond. Living in Paris, she still sees Ambroise Michel (Rudy Torres) and Cécilia Hornus (Blanche Marci), but there are actors like Aurélie Vaneck (Ninon Chaumette) who live in the South of France and whom she did not have seen “for ages“.”So it was even more touching and joyful to find her again because we had lost sight of each other.“, she clarified.
Dounia Coesens also spoke of the very strong ties she has with Marwan Berreni (Abdel Fedala), one of her best friends, Elodie Varlet (Estelle Cantorel), Joakim Latzko (Gabriel Riva) and Laurent Kérusoré (Thomas Marci). “I came to this series when I was 15. I grew up with all the people who worked there, it’s my second family. I built my friendly universe there. (…) This series allowed me to build myself on many levels“, she said.
She therefore had a heavy heart when she learned that the series was going to bow out at the end of the year. “It hit me like a bomb. I no longer toured in it, so it was less burdensome for me than for those who still play it. But it’s as if I was told that they were going to destroy my childhood homea place where I have a lot of memories and that I will never see again“, she confided. She has a big thought but also a lot of concerns for the technicians of the series or her friends who have settled in Marseille, because work is rarer there.
