Ten days before the legal deadline for filing the complete list of 500 sponsorships, several candidates are still far from the mark.
Obtain 500 signatures from elected officials which will have to be sent to the Constitutional Council before March 4, 2022. On paper, nothing could be easier, especially since 42,000 elected officials are authorized to give their signature to the contenders for the Élysée. However, to date, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Marine Le Pen or Eric Zemmour, have not managed to cross the fateful course. And this, while these three candidates weigh in at the polls, at least with regard to the polls or the previous elections.
In order to be present in the first round of the presidential election, the employees of the National Rally and the activists are mobilizing. Marine Le Pen has even put her campaign on hold in order to call elected officials to ask them for a signature. For Jean-Luc Mélenchon, the situation settles down. Éric Zemmour, meanwhile, has moved to Reunion Island. It evokes a democratic scandal. This system of sponsorship risks being seriously challenged in the future.
