Double murder in Longueuil | Suspect arrested

The man in his thirties considered “a person of interest” in the double murder that occurred in Longueuil on Wednesday has been arrested. The suspect is expected to appear in court in the morning.


The victims are two women aged 67 and 84. The 30-year-old man, previously considered a person of interest, was arrested by authorities after being encountered by major crimes investigators. He was known to the police. He must appear Thursday morning at the Longueuil courthouse.

“For the moment, we will not confirm family ties,” explained agent Mélanie Mercille of the Longueuil Agglomeration Police Service (SPAL).

Police discovered the two bodies on Wednesday around 11:30 a.m., in a building on Boulevard Désormeaux.

The SPAL initially considered the deaths suspicious, before confirming at the end of the day that it was a double murder. There is always a crime scene on the premises. According to our information, the suspect is the son of one of the victims. The deceased are said to be related.
