A suspect linked to the double murder that occurred in Charlesbourg on December 8 will appear this Wednesday at the Quebec City courthouse.

The suspect, Daniel Lafond, 34, was arrested on December 10 in connection with an assault and forcible confinement four days earlier, on December 6.
Investigators from the Quebec City Police Department (SPVQ) had the same suspect in their sights from the start of the investigation into the murders of Stéphane Deschênes and Mario Anctil. Several elements gathered during the investigation enabled the investigators to ask the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions (DPCP) to institute proceedings against him.
He is expected to appear later today.
