The father of Laval accused of the first degree murder of two of his children has still not appeared to face justice, despite four attempts.
Friday, his appearance before a judge was postponed again, due to his state of health: Kamaljit Arora was plunged into a coma, explained to the judge the Crown prosecutor.
Although he could not know if he would regain consciousness over the weekend, his appearance was postponed to Saturday. The accused has still not been able to speak to a lawyer because of his condition. The nature of his injuries is not known.
But even without appearing in court, the 45-year-old was charged with the 1st degree murder of his 13-year-old daughter, Anzel, and 11-year-old son, Aaron, as well as in fact on a 45-year-old woman whom he allegedly tried to strangle.
The drama took place Monday evening in the Sainte-Dorothée district of Laval.
The children were found unresponsive at home and pronounced dead in hospital. Kamaljit Arora was arrested at the scene. He had no criminal record in Quebec. The circumstances in which the two children died have not yet been revealed by the Laval police.
