Dorval | Young man found dead, shot

(Dorval) A young man was found dead late Tuesday evening after being apparently hit in the upper body by firearm projectiles in Dorval, on the west island of Montreal.

In the middle of the night on Wednesday, the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) had not yet reported any arrests in connection with this case.

The police were alerted around 11 p.m. by a call from a citizen to the 911 telephone exchange who had just seen a person lying on the ground near the intersection of Carson and Mimosa avenues.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the man in his 20s to have sustained projectile injuries and was pronounced dead.

No other information was available in the middle of the night about this case.

A security perimeter has been erected in the area which is essentially residential. Investigators from the SPVM’s major crimes squad began examining the crime scene, with the help of members of the canine squad and forensic identification technicians.
