(Dorval) A motorist was seriously injured early Thursday morning in Dorval, in the West Island of Montreal, when his vehicle hit a sidewalk before crashing into a concrete wall.
The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) reported that the 40-year-old man, who was alone in his car, was conscious during his transport to the hospital, but that the severity of his injuries put his life in danger.
The accident took place around 6 a.m. on Arthur-Fecteau Street, a few hundred meters from the grounds of the Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau International Airport. The collision occurred at the intersection of Cardinal Avenue.
Police said they believe the motorist was traveling at high speed during the impact.
A security perimeter was erected in the early morning at the intersection of rue Arthur-Fecteau and avenue Cardinal so that investigators from the SPVM’s collision module could establish the circumstances of the incident with more precision.
