“I had a crazy race”, the first words of Manon Hostens after the race are at the height of the event. The kayaker from Périgueux became this Saturday, June 4, world champion in the individual sprint descent during the competition organized in France, in Treignac in Corrèze.
Already world champion in 2018
The world’s best downhillers compete on the little Vézère until Monday. Manon Hostens has already been crowned downhill world champion in 2018 in K1 sprint. The downhill discipline is not Olympic, and Manon Hostens went back to downhill this year to have fun.
Since 2019, Manon Hostens had taken up road racing, which is an Olympic discipline, to be in contention for the Olympic Games in Rio and then Paris 2024. Manon Hostens still has a team race to compete with the team of France.
