The weekend is likely to start with our feet in the water. The Dordogne and Corrèze are placed on orange alert for “floods”, reported Vigicrues, Saturday March 30, in its first morning bulletin. In these departments, Isle upstream, notably in Périgueux, and Vézère upstream, between Uzerche and Ussac, are affected by “significant and locally damaging overflows” Saturday morning. This move to orange alert means that significant flooding is possible and that traffic conditions may be difficult.

Across the country, other localized overflows could occur. “Moderate to significant increases in levels on several rivers in the west and southwest of the country (…) will continue”warns Vigicrues. “Small floods and rapid rises are also expected on several rivers from the Pyrenees and the Cévennes, continues the organization. In the north of the country, the very slow spread of floods in the Oise, Canche and Somme will continue in the coming days.”
