The collection started in Centre-du-Québec is going so well that the organizers plan to soon double the quantity of material sent weekly.
It must be said that in Drummondville, aid for the Ukrainians is not running out of steam. Again on Friday, dozens of people brought donations to the warehouse located in the Drummondville Industrial Park.
“I brought medicine, toothpaste and sanitary napkins. If I was in this situation, I too would appreciate receiving help,” said a lady.
For a third consecutive week, a truckload of food left Drummondville on Friday for a long journey to Ukraine. But even with this delivery, the warehouse is still well stocked. Next Friday, two trucks will be needed.
“Obviously it means more sorting and handling work for us, but it makes us happy to do it,” said one of the collection managers, Céline Vandervoorde.
The items sought by the organizers:
- Medications
- First aid kits
- Thermal underwear
- Sleeping bag
- Layers
- dry food
