Ivana Trump, the first wife of the former American president, died of “torso injuries caused by impact”, New York forensic pathology authorities said Friday. His death was accidental, they added in a statement, without specifying the circumstances of the death.
Donald Trump announced on Thursday July 14 that his ex-wife had died, at the age of 73, “at her home in New York”. He hailed life “tremendous” of this former cross-country skier and model of Czech origin, who was his wife from 1977 to 1992. The couple had three children: Donald Jr, Ivanka and Eric.
New York police say they went to Ivana Trump’s apartment after calling 911 and finding her “unconscious and unresponsive”. According to law enforcement, his death did not appear to be “of criminal origin”. According to the New York Timesthe police were looking to check if Ivana Trump had fallen down the stairs.
