Donald Trump said in a podcast broadcast Tuesday that he has a “specific plan” to end the war in Ukraine, but that he will not reveal it in order to maintain the element of “surprise.”
“If I win, as president-elect, I will make sure that a deal gets done, that’s guaranteed,” the Republican candidate for the White House said.
“I have a very specific plan to stop Ukraine and Russia. And I have a certain idea – maybe not a plan, but an idea – for China,” he assured in an interview with the American podcaster Lex Fridman.
The former president, however, declined to elaborate on the details of these hypothetical plans. “If I give them to you, I won’t be able to use them,” he said, insisting on the need to maintain an element of “surprise.”
Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed that he would resolve the war between Russia and Ukraine “in 24 hours,” without ever explaining how.
The business tycoon has in recent months been highly critical of the billions of dollars spent by the United States to support kyiv in its war against Moscow, calling on Europe to “get moving.”
