Donald Trump hopes to respond to Kamala Harris at ultra-secure rally in Arizona

Attacked by his rival Kamala Harris during the Democratic convention, Donald Trump will try to respond during a rally in Arizona, on the night of Friday to Saturday. With 75 days to go before the election, the race for the White House is shaping up to be tight.

From Arizona, where he will hold a rally on Friday, August 23, Donald Trump flooded his Truth Social network with messages during Kamala Harris’ speech at the Democratic convention. In 37 minutes of speech, more than 40 messages were posted by the former president who bombarded the woman he calls “Comrade” Kamala Harris. If he had called her a communist in this campaign, he now calls her a “Marxist”claiming it would send the economy into depression and quadruple taxes on individuals and businesses.

Faced with attacks from his rival, Donald Trump also said he was satisfied that the question of whether or not to ban abortion was up to the states and that it was no longer a federal matter. He positioned himself as a defender of women’s safety. “I will protect them from invasion at our border,” wrote the former president, lambasting Kamala Harris’ alleged inaction on illegal immigration.

Questioned in the wake by the conservative channel Fox News on his refusal to vote for a bipartisan agreement on this issue, the Republican candidate places the blame on his rival, again calling her “the border tsar”. “She brought 20 million people into our country, many of them criminals,” he assures. He repeats that he “will close the border”a key theme in his campaign.

Donald Trump is holding a rally under very high security on Friday night in a large hall in the suburbs of Phoenix, Arizona. This is where Kamala Harris gave a speech a few weeks ago.

And it is also in Phoenix that Robert Francis Kennedy, the third face of this race for the White House, will attract attention, since he must speak to discuss the continuation of his campaign. He should withdraw and support Donald Trump. The American media mention a lot of discussions between the two teams, and the Trump campaign even announces – and this is unusual – a “special guest” at the meeting.

Everything suggests that RFK, the heir to the Kennedy dynasty, rejected by most of his clan who are Democrats, will try to influence a very close election in the swing states, particularly Arizona, where the election was decided by 10,000 votes in 2020. For the time being, the independent candidate, an anti-vaccine figure familiar with conspiracy theories, is credited with around 5% of voting intentions. It remains to be seen whether his supporters will follow him.
