Political affairs are back on track. Donald Trump arrived Sunday, July 14, in Milwaukee (Wisconsin), in the northeastern United States, for the Republican convention, which must officially nominate him as their presidential candidate, the day after the assassination attempt targeting the former head of state.

The Republican convention is being held in Wisconsin from Monday to Thursday and was already shaping up to be an event to honor the 78-year-old former president before he was shot in the ear and evacuated after several gunshots during a rally on Saturday.

“Landing in Milwaukee with @realdonaldtrump”, posted his son Eric Trump on X with a video taken from the cockpit of the Trump Force Onethe plane of the Republican candidate for the November 5 presidential election.

After the assassination attempt, Donald Trump vowed to stick to his convention agenda. “I can’t allow a shooter or a potential assassin to force a change of program or anything.”he insisted on his Truth Social network on Sunday.

Tens of thousands of Donald Trump supporters are therefore gathering for this historic high-tension mass. The chosen venue is a huge, very modern sports complex, whose walls are covered with large photographs glorifying the 45th President of the United States, who also wants to be the 47th.

The first highlight of the Republican convention will likely come Monday, with the announcement of Donald Trump’s choice to be his next vice president, if he wins the election on November 5.

Three names keep coming up: best-selling author turned congressman J.D. Vance, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, and influential Latino Florida Sen. Marco Rubio.
