Dominique Wieckowiak, from the Artois valleys in Hawaii, the Mecca of triathlon

This sports fan, who lives in Bouvigny-Boyeffles, has been passionate about sports since childhood. Before embarking on long-distance triathlon, he dabbled in many disciplines such as football, handball, cycling and athletics.

The “Iron Man” Triathlon was born in Hawaii in 1978

It was only at the age of 37, motivated by a new neighbor, that he decided to embark on the “Iron man” triathon. A passion that pushed him to surpass himself and push his limits. As a result, last August, he managed to win, in his 55-59 age category, his ticket to participate in the World Championships organized in Hawaii, where this discipline was born in 1978.
