Dominique Ollivier hopes to “set the record straight”, following allegations of mismanagement made on Friday by Isabelle Beaulieu, the current president of the Office de consultation publique de Montréal (OCPM), before the Commission on Finance and Administration from the city.
However, she does not specify whether she intends to pursue Mme Beaulieu nor if she will remain in office as municipal councilor.
In a letter sent to the media, Mr.me Ollivier claims to be “prey to the anger of outraged citizens” since a Quebecor media investigation revealed that the OCPM made significant expenditures with public funds, including trips and gourmet meals, while she was president, from 2014 to 2021.
At the end of the phone, the municipal councilor in Vieux-Rosemont, who resigned last week from her position as president of the executive committee of the City of Montreal, says she hopes that the public “evaluates the situation in light of the supporting documents [qu’elle a] filed with the Commission. »
Mme Olivier has in fact submitted new elements to the Commission, such as a letter involving Denis Coderre which, according to her, justified a trip by the OCPM to Mozambique, which the latter had criticized.
She also presented “mandate letters, memorandums of understanding [et] texts of law and directives” which, according to her, corroborate her version of the facts. ” I’ve been [aussi] submitted letters from international partners explaining the impact of our collective exchanges and deploring the smear campaign of which the institution is the victim,” specifies the municipal councilor in her letter.
Public outings
“I think my message was well heard [ces dernières semaines]. But when I saw the treatment that was given to it again, with the allegations of Mr.me Beaulieu, with his accusations of lax management, I found that something was not working,” says Mme Olivier at Duty.
Mme Olivier has been increasing her public outings since Friday, where she repeats the same message that she tried to defend in the Commission. She was notably interviewed on Radio-Canada radio on Saturday, and published her letter today in The duty.
Remember that last Friday, Isabelle Beaulieu affirmed that upon her arrival at the head of the OCPM in February 2022, she had noted cases of time theft. She also reported laxity in the management of the organization and an absence of a code of ethics – shortcomings that she attributed to Dominique Ollivier. The main interested party, however, reiterates that no evidence supports these statements.
Questioned on this subject, Dominique Ollivier does not specify whether she intends to pursue Isabelle Beaulieu, or even Valérie Plante, who had described the declarations of the two leaders as “extremely shocking”. The mayor of Montreal also announced on Friday that she intended to recommend to the municipal council to dismiss Mr.me Beaulieu and to put the OCPM under supervision.
Mme Ollivier also did not want to comment further on how she planned to continue working as a municipal councilor in the current context. And she does not specify whether she plans to resign from her position as advisor.
Friday, Valérie Plante clarified that Dominique Ollivier still had his place as an elected official. “I consider that in the current situation, Mr.me Ollivier has all the skills to continue to be the city councilor in the Rosemont district. What concerns us at the moment is the question of management. »
