Dominique Bernard was “the first target, the main task”, declared the assailant of the October 13 attack in Arras. Franceinfo had access to the interrogation of Mohamed Mogouchkov which took place on November 10. The radicalized 21-year-old suspect remained silent in police custody in front of investigators. But a few weeks later, before the investigating judge, he spoke at length. These chilling statements shed light on the assassination, almost four months ago, of Dominique Bernard, this French teacher from Arras, stabbed on October 13 in front of his high school.
What we understand, after reading this long interrogation of November 10, is that it was not the man Dominique Bernard who the assailant was after: “I didn’t have any particular problem with him”, he declared before the judge but his job. According to Mogouchkov, “professor of French and literature” is one of the subjects “where we transmit […] passion, love, democracy, human rights, unbelieving rights.”

The tracking fruit that the attacker recognizes, “what was in my hands (the knives), the target, it was planned”, he blurted out in front of the judge. And planned before the Hamas attack on Israel. The chosen day, a Friday, is “symbolic for Islam”, he explains. Only the date of October 13 was not fixed, Mogouchkov suggests that on that day, a “fixette” caught up with him.
