On the other hand, great discoveries are still to be made in less prestigious appellations, where talented winegrowers still offer us affordable wines… for Burgundy! And the Mâconnais region is full of them.
This Chardonnay from Domaine du Mont-Épin offers a very classic expression of the region, with notes of cream, butter, pear and peach.
The mouth is ample and caressing, with a well-nourished fruity substance, carried by a fresh acidity and an impression of stony minerality on the finish. A tailor-made wine to accompany fatty fish, white meats or pasta in a creamy sauce, a grilled cheese with pears.
