Bergerac is part of the South-West vineyards, but is also very close to Bordeaux. The region has long lived in the shadow of its prestigious neighbour.
However, it enjoys very beautiful terroirs and its wines are often very good value for money. The same grape varieties are grown there as in Bordeaux, both white and red. In both regions, whites are often dominated by Sauvignon Blanc. Here, we blend an equal part of Sémillon and 10% Muscadelle.
The wine opens with delicate aromas of citrus, peach and herbs. The palate is fresh, with a delicately creamy texture. The wine shows firmness and a certain grain, with slight bitterness that brings depth to the finish. Less exuberant than a pure Sauvignon Blanc, with more fullness.
Squash risotto, grilled fish, citrus fruits or beurre blanc.
