The Festival international du Domaine Forget de Charlevoix unveiled its summer program on Wednesday, in addition to announcing the appointment of a new ambassador. Singer Marc Hervieux succeeds a great and faithful accomplice of the festival, Marie-Nicole Lemieux, in this role of spokesperson.

The well-known tenor and host will also be one of the star artists of the summer program. “It will be an honor for me to introduce even more Quebecers to this prestigious institution, which has already been so strong internationally for 44 years now,” said the spokesperson in a press release.
For his last season as artistic director of the event, Paul Fortin has (re) invited the artists who have thrilled him the most during the 11 years of his mandate at Domaine Forget.
The opening concert of the Festival will be held on June 25 and will pay tribute to a great personality of opera in Quebec, the lyric singer Joseph Rouleau, who passed away in 2019. Among the artists who will be reunited on stage, let us mention the soprano Marianne Fiset and bass Alain Coulombe and pianist Marie-Ève Scarfone. And also a trio formed by violinist Blake Pouliot, cellist Stéphane Tétreault and pianist Charles Richard-Hamelin.
Also on the program, the Orchester Métropolitain concert under the direction of Yannick Nézet-Séguin featuring the violist Antoine Tamestit (July 23), the Weekend Arts sans frontières with in particular the Pop Symphonique concert (August 6) and the free outdoor concert by Ariane Moffatt (August 7), as well as a show by pianist and jazz singer, Eliane Elias (August 13).
The closing concert will be given on August 20 by the group Les Violons du Roy conducted by Jonathan Cohen.
The 44and edition of the Domaine Forget International Festival will be held from June 25 to August 20.
