“Dolce Vita” by Abel, a first EP that traces the contours of his dreams and hopes

From an early age, Abel is very quickly attracted by artistic creation, partly thanks to a photographer father whom he observes with a curious gaze. A veritable Swiss army knife, he enjoys filming his friends and cousins by making his own montages.

A dreamer at heart, he writes short stories and gradually composes without any knowledge of music theory. Internet generation, he gets down to posting covers of various artists of the French pop scene (Pomme, Juliette Armanet, Julien Granel, Alice et Moi, etc.) on his Instagram account who are hailed by his peers. But it will be on Youtube that it is done spotted by his managerwhose discerning eye recognized a certain sensitivity in this young self-taught artist.

His first EP presents itself as an evanescent romantic stroll through Italywith its song “Dolce Vita” which smells of the sun. The result is an Italian imagery around a new love. A light vintage pop title which underlines the beginnings of an imaginary game of seduction.

Also on the program? The breath of memories between violence and sweetness of childhood in the very personal title “Les Vagues”, an indomitable spleen of fear of the future in “Comme thrown à la mer” and the tearing of farewells against a background of disco pop 80’s with “Summer 85”.

His music takes us in the depths of his dreams over his sweet voice and aquatic and contemplative melodies. The intimate project with indie pop asperities is both sensitive and very joyful.
