Based on photos of official meetings, Internet users wrongly claim that the Russian president stages his travels by using extras.
For the first time in three months of war, Vladimir Putin visited on May 25 wounded Russian soldiers in a military hospital in Moscow. Since then, on social networks, accounts that are opposed to him claim that the master of the Kremlin stages his visits official.
They share photos supposed to prove the use of extras or government agents to play the role of ordinary citizens during meetings and trips. One of the pictures would thus present both a soldier wounded in Ukraine this year and one of the factory workers met in 2017. The other would show government agents dressed as fishermen. The two comparisons do not hold: either the people are different, or the encounters are not fortuitous.
