Does the CRTC have defined obligations?

There’s no denying it, it’s boiling in the big pot of commercial radio. The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) is facing numerous requests from commercial radio stations to quickly carry out restructuring, because their future is at stake. However, reality demands these changes!

The financial future of commercial radio is in danger, at least greatly affected by online streaming players fueled by their greed. Like a wound that grows and takes time to close. The solution, eagerly awaited by commercial radio, can only come from the CRTC. But when, and how? Nice riddle, isn’t it!

This problem raises several questions. How is it that several different players, commercial radio and online streaming companies, are skating on the same ice but with very different rules? To what extent will the CRTC tangibly and concretely show its support and love for the requests of the commercial radio stations over which it watches as the sovereign council? Please, let’s avoid superficial sympathy!

There is no doubt that the CRTC will have a lot of pots on the stove to watch over. Several proposals will be on the table where the challenge will be to prevent the first domino from falling! The CRTC must avoid placing commercial radio stations face to face with the abyss of perplexity and irresolution! It is therefore about their survival and their development!
